As we continue our evolution and growth into a leading HCM SaaS technology provider to businesses, we are seeking our next Manager, Payroll Tax Services.  The Manager, Payroll Tax Services leads and manages PrimePay’s Payroll Tax Services Department, overseeing a team of Tax Associates. This role involves ensuring accurate and timely tax reporting, customer funding, payment processing, managing departmental budgets, collaborating with other departments, and guiding system improvements. Operational management skills and experience in high-volume transactional environments are essential.

What YOU will be doing: 

  • Oversee day-to-day tax functions, ensuring compliance and precise tax processing for federal, state, and local obligations
  • Manage the preparation and timely filing of taxes for clients, implementing strategies within the Tax Services Department
  • Manage multiple accounting functions and operations including general ledger, payment posting, and account reconciliations
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual tax accounting close processes and reporting to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Provide guidance on tax-related issues to business leaders and functional teams
  • Develop and inspire staff, ensuring adherence to procedures aligned with applicable laws
  • Direct the processing of ACH transactions, tax filings, penalty notice resolution, and other compliance-related tasks

Success will come if you have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • 3-5 years of payroll experience; Payroll Tax experience preferred
  • 1-3 years supervisory experience preferably in payroll or tax services
  • CPA certification or Enrolled Agent designation desired
  • Strong technology skills and experience with software conversions
  • Proficient in high-transaction, deadline-oriented environments like backroom banking operations or payment processing
  • Skilled in payroll tax regulations, internal control procedures, and comprehensive understanding of tax jurisdiction legislation
  • Strong technological aptitude with a proven track record in software conversions and implementing process improvements
  • Proactive client interaction abilities, ensuring professional and pleasant communication
  • Demonstrated time management skills, consistently meeting deadlines with precision
  • Leadership prowess showcased through motivating and coaching teams effectively
  • Ability to comprehensively strategize and plan, implementing process enhancements within the Tax Services Department
